About Us
We Are A Reformed, Confessional, & Baptist Church In Dallas, TX That Is Gospel Centered & City Focused Church.
Our Name
Ecclesia is the English spelling of the Greek word Ekklesia, which means “a called-out assembly or congregation.” Ekklesia is commonly translated as “church” in the New Testament. The church is made up of individual members of the body of Christ. We understand that the church is not just a building; the church is made of God’s people who have been called out of darkness and into the light of Christ (1 Peter 2:9). Ecclesia perfectly describes who we are as a local body of Christ, we are a called out assembly here to proclaim the excellence’s of Jesus Christ.
Our Vision Pillars
1.) The Word - Because the Bible is the true story of God’s redemptive work culminating in the person and work of Jesus Christ, we are devoted to bending our ears, hearts and lives to the teaching of Scripture. This means that a large portion of our Sunday gathering is committed to passionate, gospel‐centered, expository preaching. We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant & infallible word of God (2 Timothy 3:16)
2.) Worship - Worship is about bringing glory to God and experiencing the power of God. The longing of the human heart is to come in contact with a God who is transcendent yet very present in the midst of human brokenness. Because of this we will cultivate an atmosphere on Sunday of both joyful expression and reverent awe. This will be done through a combination of songs, hymns, public reading of scripture, public prayers, and communion.
3.) Evangelism – A final instruction the Lord Jesus left to his disciples is to fulfill the great commission (Matt. 28:19-20). We believe as fellow disciples of Christ we are called to that same commission. That is to make disciples of all nations. Our mission will be to share the gospel in our community by various means available to us.
4.) Community – When Christ was here on earth His ministry was marked by compassion for the needy and we want to be a church marked by that same compassion. We desire to be a beacon in our community that helps those in need. This would include creating opportunities for people to help others during difficult times. We want to be a church that demonstrates our love to a lost world not only in word but also in deed.
5.) Missions – We believe the church is called to fulfill the Great Commission both locally and globally. Locally through evangelism, and globally through missions and missionaries. We want to be a church that is passionately participating in the work of missionaries around the world.
